Welcome
African Women Support Initiative
Deeply moved by the plight of women and children in South Sudan, with women experiencing the highest maternal mortality ratio in the world, low literacy rate, rampant unabated sexual and gender based violence, cultural, social, economic injustices that put women at disadvantage and denied them the right to own properties, attend schools, and representation at all levels of decision making in their communities and society, and witnessing many of their children dyeing without reaching the age of 5 years, a group of women decided to organize and form the African Women Support Initiative (AWSI) in 2022.
